Kalua Pork
Ingredients
- 1 (6 pound) pork butt roast or pork loin
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Hawaiian sea salt or kosher
- 1 tablespoon liquid smoke flavoring and lots more to taste
Directions
- Pierce pork all over with a carving fork. Rub salt then liquid smoke over meat. Place roast in a slow cooker.You can add a can of pinapple juice in the beginning if you want more liquid at the end.
- Cover, and cook on Low for 16 to 20 hours, turning once during cooking time.Can be more like 12.
- Remove meat from slow cooker, and shred, adding drippings as needed to moisten.TAke drippings and put them in the freezer and then pull the excess fat off the top if you are looking to put a lot of drippings back in for flavor. Shred, then put it all back in the drippings. Serve with Island Sweet Rice
